Title catchy enough?  Okay, cool.

A couple weeks ago I was working on a post when I saw another Yakezie blog (can't remember who, sorry!) mention in passing the MBTI personality tests.  It was at this very time I was working on my own post about my own tested personality type.

Today I revisited the topic, thinking about ways it could be more interesting.  To make a long story short, I think it would be cool if we could get a number of Yakezie members to take this particular test (link below) and then write a post about it.

Now, this isn't some stupid color test, nor is it something you'd see in your email as "FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW: THIS IS SO COOL!"  Granted, it's cool, but it's also pretty scientific.  Having taken it, I can say my type is very much me, as are the results for my friends, who have all agreed that the tested result is, in fact, them.  It's highly analytical, interesting, and fact-driven, so you don't have to go out of your personal comfort zone to write all about you, but instead let a test do the talking.

So anyway, would you be interested in participating in such a carnival?  I think it would be cool for a number of reasons:

1. We can all explore who we are, and do so without ruining the anonymity of the anonobloggers

2. It would be cool to see how people are in the world without written word.  Sure, I enjoy reading what you say about personal finance, but I want to know about you, because that's what makes blogs cool!

3. It would be cool to see if there are any trends in the type of people attracted to personal finance, business, money

4. Everyone has some kind of post that is more in-depth than their "about me" page

5. It's Yakezie exclusive, and promotional for everyone involved.

I would be more than willing to host, but if someone else would be interested (someone with a higher profile) that would be rad.  Sam, would you consider maybe putting it on the Yakezie blog?  I'd be more than happy to write and format the post, with each blogger posted under their respective personality types.  (There are 16).

I don't know, maybe it's whacky, or maybe it'd be a really cool exploration of personalities.  Would you participate? Interested?

The test (72 question, Yes or No) takes only about 10 minutes, where you'll get a result (four letters–I'm an INTJ, btw) that you can then Google and read all about.  The link for the test is http://www.tinyurl.com/4ht

You might have read about this on Balance Junkie; she's not a Yakezie AFAIK but she had a big post about these personality tests not too long ago. I took the test several years ago and I was an INTJ close to INTP. So unless my personality changed over the past few years (it may have, who knows) I'm probably still the same!

I just took the test again and ended up an INTP. I think depending on my mood I'll answer a few questions slightly differently so I'll end up on either the J side or the P side.

I've done similar tests in the past. (I am a "yellow" personality) I would be up for joining in.

I use the MBTI a lot in my "real" job. It's amazing how accurate the tests can be. I'd be up for a post about my type (INTJ – bet there are a lot of us here) and how it relates to my finances!

I'm thinking we should go as far out as maybe a month in order to get as many people involved as possible, and to allow for some research on the MBTI and to take the test.  I'll be going to through Crystal's Yakezie list and contacting as many people as possible, so if you get an email from me, don't be surprised! Wink

I'll address this this weekend.  I'm glad to see so many people interested in it.

April 18th sound good to everyone?

That would put us three weeks out from here, which would give anyone who hasn't yet checked out their type to get involved.  As I said before, I'm going to email EVERYONE from Crystal's list to tell them about the carnival, and hope to bring a lot of members that aren't active on the forums into the fray.  I'll probably do this tomorrow.

So here's the deal:

By Sunday, April 17th, 6:00PM eastern time email

Your name

Your blog post link

Your MBTI personality Type

As well as a little tidbit about yourself

to contact@moneymamba.com.

The carnival will be posted on April 17th, so aim to post your blog post as close to this date as possible.  Sound like a plan?

I had a VA contact all Yakezie members with a message, and noncontact form people's emails just went out.

This is definitely on for April 18!

Nice! P.S. My girlfriend is also ISFJ so similar to Melissa and not far from Crystal; these tests can be pretty interesting! A good friend of mine is also ESFJ and I guess it makes sense after reading the results.
