Well I did that.  I wrote to Serve asking them to look into my problem.  I got a canned customer service message back saying they needed to verify my account and to log in.  I did so, but there were no new notifications for me.  I wrote them back a slightly-cranky response saying that in the future I would prefer a little more guidance in future customer service responses and that I hope they can resolve my issue since I plan to review their service on my website.  :)

Are there any retailers that allow you to pay via Serve or do I have to transfer the funds to my bank account to spend them?

@ MoneyBeagle, I signed up for this several months back. I received a card in the mail (looks like a credit card) that you activate and use anywhere American Express is accepted (Amex is the company behind Serve). You can also transfer the money to your bank account if you prefer. I didn't have any problem using mine at CVS.

I'll check back tomorrow.

I didn't see one.  They offer $5 for up to 10 referrals.  

Glad I read this to the last post.  I was going to go sign up too, but I'm Canadian.  All of the Americans on here should take advantage of this easy money.  Thanks for sharing this JT.

 

I'm glad there is more competition for paypal though.  They make some brutal business decisions with screwing over a lot of their customers.  They are integrated into a lot of sites, but I think between Amex and Google they might be watching their back.  Competition is great for consumers and businesses.

It's interesting to see how American Express evolves over time.  They're obviously looking to at least meet PayPal's fee structure, if not eventually beat it.  That's a pretty big divergence from their historically higher merchant processing fees as a trade off for what they claim to be a wealthier base of cardholders.  I too hope they compete strongly with PayPal, as we could all use a little bit of competition in the online payments space.

@OneCent - I had no idea this was a 6 month old program!  Dang - behind on the curve, and my $10!
