This is a great tip! I hadn't thought about the time of the week influencing it, but I'll give it a try.

I have a plugin that makes everything I post to Facebook show up on Twitter. I'm not sure how I did it, followed some tutorial, but it makes it easy to promote once and hit twice.

The Carnival of Personal Finance seems to only have their own website and submission form.  I think one of the others I listed is that way too.  Otherwise, all the ones I know about are on blogcarnival.com.

In regards to acceptance odds, I find that it completely depends on the host.  I only seem to be accepted 50% of the time too...I have no idea if they just run out of time and delete my entry or if they think my post sucks.  I decide not to worry about it and just try again the next week since there is way too much drama in my life already, lol.
