Thanks Invest It Wisely, that was my tentative conclusion. But as a newbie, and considering the consequences, I'm treading very carefully! From the Adsense Program Policies:

"In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads."

There's a lot of subjectivity built in here as to what is 'confusing', but the door does seem ajar to running Adsense and Media.net ads simultaneously.

I agree, and I decided it was better to not run them at the same time so that there could definitely be no confusion. ;) I think Google errs on the side of ban, so better to end up on that right side.

Can you put a little more info about Infolinks? Do you get paid when the reader just hover and not click through?

I haven't had much luck with CJ and flexoffer. 

I'm using media.net as an alternative to Adsense and I'm pretty happy with them.

I should split test Ad Brite and see how that does. Or maybe just put a tower ad in the sidebar.

You get paid for impression and click, although not as much for impression of course.

I've had good luck with both CJ and Flexoffers, but it depends on which programs you're an affiliate for.  For example, right now is tax time, so tax related affiliates perform very well.

I've had excellent luck with media.net. In some cases it is much better than adsense. It is very site-dependent, though. It excels on sites where you get most of your traffic from search. If most of your traffic is from referrals, you probably won't do as well with it.

My adsense crashed big time since most of my revenue was coming from two posts that were 2011-specific. My 2012 updates haven't caught on, but Media.net has been able to earn a lot more over the spectrum of posts. I'm doing much better with it than I was doing with Adsense.
