Just curious. I know that you all get them, but how do you treat messages asking for a review of a new book when a free copy is provided? I know that some treat reviews as advertisements and charge accordingly, but I'm just curious as to what YOU do. This will be a big help to me. Thanks.

Love these! I have a re=spam e-mail I send spammers.

It simply states, "Let me know if you'd like to advertise."

Try it sometime. I think I've made at least a couple thousand from them since June 2010 who respond with, "OK!"

Mbhunter - I figured you meant 'Roxanne'. However, I don't think they use their real names. She behaves much like a 'Nancy Davis' I dealt with. In other words, if it doesn't work to try with one name, make up another. Who knows.

By "her" I meant Roxanne Peterson. That was the name she went by.

Oh my gosh, I bet she is Nancy Davis. That was exactly how she was with me. Telling me to post it that morning, blah blah, and all for free. She follows me on twitter, but I never returned the favor.

I would hate to have their job, whatever it is.

"Roxanne" hit me up too. Because I'm hopelessly sarcastic, I made the mistake of responding to "her", telling her I could use my connections to get her on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, that kind of thing.

Doing this from a Gmail address meant getting her in my chat view and receiving a bunch of texts. I learned my lesson.

What I don't get is the point behind this. I mean, this isn't spamming. This is targeted, one-on-one annoyances. And to what end? There have got to be more efficient ways to scam money out of people.

(By the way, anyone who wants to pay her to write a guest post? Hire me for half price and I'll even spell everything correctly.)

I got the email as well. I looked at "her" guest posts and none of them had her name. I was debating whether to reply to her or not, after seeing this thread, I think I will just ignore her.

Get at least one of these a day. I used to reply to them but since I found that to be a waste of time I don't bother with them anymore. I guess they think we're too stupid to realize that the guest post benefits them much, much more than it benefits us.
