Hi All,

Im a manager at Adbeans, thanks for all your comments just wanted to clarify a few issues:

Textlink Ads – We have been placing these for a number of years and always use a very small percentage of pages on a publisher site that we identify as contextual to any ads placed, therefore makes look more natural in the eyes of search engines and as very small number of ads to our clients from any one site means this does not flag as suspicious and protecting the sites we work with is always paramount to our success.

Payment Time – I can confirm we recently changed the amount of time from 21 days or 15working days to 30 days in total. This is because we have been expanding and as a result of many new publishers coming on board we have to deal with many more withdrawal requests and rather then not being able to meet our current deadline and upset our fine publishers, we thought it would be better to extend the term which will give us enough time and more often than not you’ll get paid before the 30 days are up.

Incontent Links – We have recently moved to a system of providing you with keywords and target URL’s to place manually, this works really well as many publishers do not like 3rd party code on their site which is not needed and gives you much greater control as you only publish keywords that you feel fit within your posts and therefore makes this much more relevant.

Pagerank – this is a very outdated metric, I totally understand why everyone is keen to protect their PR as many ad networks solely base price paid on this value. However over the years publishers have been able to manipulate their own PR by way of publishing duplicate content or with suspicious backlinks and therefore we base our price offered on many factors such as: no of backlinks, no of pages, freshness of content, etc hence the reason why you may have had different offers at different points in time. If anyone has any problems or questions about our program please feel free to contact us anytime at managers@adbeans.com

Hello folks! I wanted to share with you our experience with Adbeans. For a long time we resisted putting ads on our blog but then we decided why not. The idea of Adbeans seemed simple and we have somewhat control over deciding if we want to add links or not so we gave them a shot. In the beginning of our interaction with them, we got prompt replies and they seemed great to work with. So we started adding links. Once it came time to pay out, guess what, they go MIA. We sent several emails and no response. But we get emails from them about promotional campaigns for adbeans referrals. Finally we get a reply that we have to wait another 30 days for payment. OUR contract specifically says maximum 15 days. On top of that, about a few weeks after adding several adbeans advertising links to our website, our page ranking (PR) decreased. At the end of the day, take your hard work to partner up with the right people. We are reconsidering our partnership with Adbeans.

Unfortunately, the more paid link you add to your site, the more chances you have to see your Page Ranking going down. I do not advise people with younger blogs (below 1 year) to sell text link because of that reason. with a PR0 you become less attractive for any advertisers.

I must add something about Adbeans. Even though I'm making some great money with it, I have turned down many offers from them (because their price was just ridiculous). it seems that their agents are not working with the same budget!

The way they presented it to me was that I have an option of text links in the post or a rolling ad/blurb at the end of the post. There were two options and I could choose whichever I wanted.

The in post link was definitely much more lucrative and I would do it in a heartbeat if I wasn't concerned about my PR. Still haven't made a decision.

Hope that helps someone.

I wouldn't allow the inpost links. My PR is my second most valuable thing next to my traffic. PR is really volatile, and a lot of sponsored post advertisers really , really care about PR.

I too have been contacted by AdBeans... and I'm totally unsure, being a newbie. So, if not adbeans, what would some of you suggest? I'm not really looking for much... just something to help. Should I pursue something? I've always been concerned about content (quality and related) as well as appearance (I don't want a cluttered website). Any ideas?

Ridiculous good or ridiculous bad? The price they're quoting me seems pretty attractive. I'm just worried about my PR.

Julie, from the price they sent me and the fact that Amanda is actually mentioning it, I will say it is ridiculous bad. At least the rate they sent me was. I would never accept that rate. I am debating whether there is any point in negotiating with them as the starting point is too low...

Also they seemed to have changed the ad model. Now they want to advertise incontent or at the bottom of the post. It adds a paragraph at the bottom, a big sentence with 1 link. So it will be bad for the readers to continue reading as part of the post. And it add that for every single post. They also sent me 80 permanent links as another option. That was a ridiculously low amount too.

I had a deal with them from about a year ago and pretty much forgot about it until this thread. I just received an email from them asking about advertising. I wonder if they are going to present this new model to me. I also have to check and see if I have any money that needs to be transferred. If they are going to ask for all of that and still offer a low amount, I definitely won't take it!
