10% is not too ambitious. I would say the rate of growth would depend on the size of the site. Double digit growth is achievable for most sites but for some of the larger nationally known sites that might be harder to reach.

I'd say 10% is a good visitor goal to shoot for. I've been focusing on subscribers and tried to get 20% increase per month. It really starts adding up after a while! Great job tracking this by percent rather than by a static number.

I think in the early stages, 10% is definitely a good goal! There might come a time when readership sort of levels out, but I imagine that would come later!

I think 10 percent per month is reasonable in terms of traffic, but probably not with subscribers just for the fact that the small number of subscribers makes any statistics hard to validate. Ten percent per month for a blog should be far easier than for a static site, since new content is added routinely. It isn't until month 11 that the number of pages on your blog wouldn't grow by more than 10 percent.

Just out of curiosity, for some of the more established sites out there- What have you found to be a typical growth rate of readership or visitors to your site?

I'm just wondering what sort of metric to use in setting a goal for growing readership and visits to my site. Right now I've been shooting for a 10% increase monthly. Is that too ambitious?
