Barclays kicked me out last year for the same reason....compliance with the new laws makes it too risky to have a ton of affiliates. They are better off purging the small sites that don't bring in the conversions. At the time, I was upset, but it really made me refocus on things. I agree with Sam above....it felt kind of hypocritical to talk about getting out of debt all the time and then turn around and promote a credit card.

Don't get me wrong, I still talk about the rewards and how that can be a nice side income for some, but there is a difference between talking about doing this and actually pushing credit cards.

I've since taken a more narrow approach to affiliates and only pick ones that align with what I am trying to teach.

I do well with Airbnb because I have a lot of travel posts. I don't promote financial products since I don't use them myself, only a few UK ones on Savvy Scot, and they are not dedicated affiliate posts, just links when I talk about my bank anyway.

The purge has begun!

It feels off pushing credit cards anyway given it's not a great way to build wealth.

Well, I've been expecting this. Barclay deactivated my affiliate links from Link offers.

Anyone else got deactivated?

I heard it's too costly for the credit card companies to check all the compliance so they are just kicking out all the small sites. That's unfortunate, but Barclay have been reducing their payout anyway so it's not a big hit in the overall scheme of things.

Anyway, what affiliate programs have been working for you guys lately? Personal Capital has been quite good for me. If you need to get hook up with them, let me know. I can send you some info.

Keep on hustling!
