Once you get the hand of the program, it's great. I use dafont to find the font(s) that I want to use (be careful to check the commons on the fonts) which can take FOREVER. I generally look around for a color scheme, and I love to use colorcombos.com for ideas. Then, I find my vector for my favicon/logo - using vectorstock.

 

It actually takes quite awhile, but it's worth it!

It's a bit expensive but it gives me the freedom to create any custom art I need - like banner ads, icons, etc.

 

As for Themes, I bought Canvas from Woo Themes and love it. I have control over almost everything (are you noticing a trend here, lol). It's around $100 - framework and theme, but it was so simple to use once I became familiar with all the options.

As for setting up, again I am far from an expert, but just mess with different themes and find the one that suits your style the best.  Then keep tweaking it until you are happy.

Now its been up a month, I'm still enjoying doing it  so I'm going to buy myself a genesis theme to make things a bit easier on the eye.

But I've never done anything like this before and was wondering how you guys sorted out your great title fonts and logos?
