There's nothing wrong with Blogger, I've just seen that it can only take you so far and that's that.

I know I am in the minority, but I use Blogger and love it.  If I were to make blogging a full-time business I could see some benefits to WP, but for my needs I am more than happy with Blogger and have no plans to switch in the near future.

Thanks for the advice!  Just backed up my blog contents and template for the first time.

I am becoming more comfortable and confident with my decision to stick with Blogger.  I finally found some cool plug-ins and widgets and learned how to implement them in my blog.  Learning a ton each day simply by viewing other blogs and of course through advice on this thread!

It is safe to say, I am addicted to Blogging!  Problem is, I spend way too much time playing with layout, widgets or plug-ins and not enough time writing.  But that is the fun part for me, playing with the design and appearance of the site.

I love your 'Blogger' blog!  Very nice theme, I think I want to steal it.  How did you get a Wordpress theme into your Blogger blog?
After some consideration, and spending some time checking out Wordpress, I think I am going to stay with Blogger for now.  Like Single Saver here, I kind of like being in the minority.  Going 'against the grain,' if you will.

I do see advantages to using Wordpress, and very well may use it for sites in the future, but for now I am comfortable with Blogger and need to concentrate on content with my very limited time that I have available for blogging.  I did finally set up a Wordpress account though, so that my comments on other blogs don't look so generic or anonymous!

Thanks!  I'm pretty proud of my site's overall appearance.  I got my theme from this site.  Then I modified it to fit my own needs.  Blogger templates aren't that hard to modify once you learn to understand the special coding language they use.  What I suggest doing is setting up a second Blogger blog, set it to private, and then use it to experiment with editing/modifying templates. 

Also, while I am dishing out Blogger advice, don't forget to save your template whenever you make updates, and also export a copy of your blog on a regular basis.

I've thought about switching to Wordpress since WP is much more flexible.   I started the effort of switching at one point but I couldn't figure out how to test out the WP setup with my blogs content before switching over the URL for real.   And I've just not felt like making the effort to switch.   Other than the interface and usability in WP i haven't seen a real compelling reason to quit Blogger.  Blogger works fine for my needs.

One that I really like is the plugin that links pre-set text to other previous posts on your site automatically. That would help greatly with SEO!

The only problem I ran into while switching - was not being able to transfer my comments from Tumblr to Wordpress.

I imported a site over from Blogger to WP and it was incredibly painless.  There was some import functionality/widget thing with JetPack in Wordpress now that makes it super easy.
