I am looking to sell at least one of my older sites that is almost 6 years old, has over 500 posts - but unfortunately has no PR anymore. I gave up on it about two years ago but couldn't stand the thought of selling it.

I would consider selling it to someone who will try and resurrect it.

I've been curious about this as well. Checked out Flippa once, found something that looked decent, but I don't have the cash for it at the moment.

For those that know, is buying sites really where the money is? Because it's not in affiliates, I'll tell you that!

This post even more so. Its difficult to find sites like this, but I guess the best opportunities come from already existing relationships with PF bloggers who have lost a little of the passon...

I am doing this too - buying sites. I was fortunate with the first one I purchased. The owner was a member of a private Facebook group I am part of and someone joked their site would be worthless and I said I know people who would be interested if she was serious about selling. She and another blogger pm'd me. The first one was right, her site was not worth what she thought it should be worth. The other blogger was ready to sell straight away, it was done in a week and within a week I made back my purchase price plus she supplied a few months of posts for me to use while we transitioned from her owning to me owning.

I feel very lucky to have had such an easy experience.

I am definitely looking at buying more sites this year.

LOL. That person was sold the dream. I think that's the business to be in, selling the dream to aspiring or new bloggers.

I too am looking to buy a site or sites, but find blogger valuations to be based on self-defined potential or what they felt their blog should have earned them if they had struck it rich. Needle in the haystack indeed, but clearly some people have succeeded in buying blogs at reasonable prices.

im always in the market for buying sites (and selling sites if the offer is reasonable), I have purchased about 20 of them over time, I dont still own all of them but have retained a few. If anyone is ever interested in buying sites or selling their sites, then shoot me a message.

I am looking to spend $200-$300 for a site with a reasonable link profile and >50 or so posts.

If it has a PR, that would be great.. But it doesn't have to.

So far, my search has been fruitless.

I've talked to about 7 or 8 site owners, but all of them priced their "abandoned" sites well above that mark.

Perhaps my expectations are just off..

I probably am an exception in that case; I think that The Money Principle has mainly sentimental value but if anyone is prepared to pay $100 for it...

...just kidding.

I'll probably be looking to buy something later this year so any suggestions on how to look will be very welcome.

Hahaha - so true! People think their sites are worth so much more than they really are. I don't think I've ever paid more than 1x annual earnings. Even then, if all the earnings are sponsored posts, that's stretching it!
