I'm not a big fan of Comment Luv and do follow links. They can be spammy and unrelated to the post, which can penalize you.

You can read my post about it here: Google Penalized My Site, and How I Got It Back.

As Aaron said, if you have a spam blocker then you should be fine. Yes, people do searches all the time for blogs with comment luv installed (you can see these searches come up in your stats at times), so just be on the lookout for more spam.

I'd be curious to see what the wiser people have to say but I definitely think you're going to get attacked with some people that are trying to spam their links.

If you are giving out free do-follow links they're definitely going to want to get their keyword in there.

Hey All--

I just added comment luv to See Debt Run, because I have always been a huge fan of when other sites have it and I can add the "Jefferson recently posted..." underneath my comment.

I did have a question however..

Is there a downside to allowing these links to be "Do Follow" links?

Obviously, it is awesome for the person leaving the comment to get that link back.

But is there any downside for the site posting the article, and thus giving the links?
