I have multiple blogs so I occasionally comment with a blog URL other than Tight Fisted Miser when a different blog is more relevant to the blog post topic. About 95% of the time though I just link to the TFM home page.

When I see urls that aren't the homepage in comments it looks very spammy to me.

When I am filling the form with the URL I have a drop down menu and choose my homepage, but sometimes by going too fast it slips to another page of my site. You are right, it could looks spammy, depends on the main URL I guess.

No, I have never done this but noticed it on my site as well. I am not convinced - it seems to me that this is another 'hack' that takes too much time and energy for very little return. Then again, I have always lacked refinment in things and been 'knock them down in the first round' kind of person.

Some commentluv will only allow your last post, so if you are commenting on a debt post and your last debt post was 2 weeks ago you may put it in the form. Not sure it is worth the trouble.

Most sites nofollow their comments. I'm not sure a lot of people actually click on the "name" links in comments, so I doubt putting a deep link there would do very much good, unless the comment includes a line like "my name includes a link to a post I wrote on this topic"

I have used it a little. If a site uses CommentLuv, I may switch from EdwardAntrobus to If You Can Read, You Can Cook if my most recent post there is more relevant to my comment. It's a lot of effort, but if a site has some sort of "most-active commenter" plugin, I will sometimes try to game it to get both sites listed for the week. But that means I have to comment twice as much on that site and do it in a non-spammy way.

Having two websites I understand the point. Also, if you get commentluv you can put your Twitter URL in your name and have people either click on your twitter or latest post. I wonder if it makes sense to put a recent post in the form instead of homepage. Some commentluv will only allow your last post, so if you are commenting on a debt post and your last debt post was 2 weeks ago you may put it in the form. Not sure it is worth the trouble.

I often see comments on my site from regular commenters, whose commenting profile says ''1 comment approved''

I looked into it and saw those people comment with the same name and email (to put up their gravatar) but change the URL

to their FB page, Twitter account, or a page other than their homepage.

Do you use this tactic? What have your seen in terms of results?
