I really enjoy Klout! I check mine several times a week. I'm currently at 60. I've linked my Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Foursquare accounts. I noticed my score go up when I participate in Twitter chats, since I do more interaction there and get some retweets. One perk I used was for a beta invite to Spotify (since it just launched in the US). It looks like I'm influential about cooking, family and weddings and some other topics. It even says I'm influenced by a few of our fellow Yakezie members!

I say we use it. Another thing to brag about when promoting our site (PR, mozRank, Alexa, subscribers, visitors, and now Klout!) I'll make a list of users and see if that can increase anyone's score a bit.

Tom--I was thinking the same thing!

I think it is in everyone's best interest--including Yakezie's--to branch out from the Yakezie from time to time and include other bloggers in personal roundups and commenting. There are amazing blogs out there that are not challengers, and who knows--they could come to Yakezie through the badge or at least Yakezie would continue to gain exposure by us commenting on others' blogs.

Klout is easy to manipulate. Find a core group of people and re-tweet each other like mad.

Isn't that what most of the Yakezie already does? ;) If we all get on Klout, retweet each other and give +Ks (which I'm suddenly addicted to since this thread started), our group could get a nice boost as well.

Another thing about Klout is that they filter out a lot of the twitter followers to get down to true reach. So having a bunch of followers or having just a small group RT you might not help, variety is probably key.

Klout is easy to manipulate. Find a core group of people and re-tweet each other like mad. I see it happening with some groups of pals. Tons of re-tweets, big klout. The groups tend to always include the same blogs in weekly rounds up and such too.

Interesting. Guess I should get on this then.

I have only had one bad issue with Klout. For about a month, it has said that I don't have any influential topics, which is stupid because I am influential on everything! I think it is a bug, but Klout support insists that it is not.

As someone who is influential about "hair style," I assure you that the influential tab is always 100% accurate.

This reply is going to sound similar to the response that I just left about the Money Crashers list...

Get listed wherever you can. Why not be on Klout? It takes about 30 seconds to activate an account through Twitter. Then, there's really nothing more you need to do.

Even if your score is low, at least there's a chance that someone will find out about you and your site from yet another source.

The internet is a big place, be everywhere!

...I second that! I mean, I typically don't subscribe to boards/directories that are too saturated in a way that devalues my time spent on there, but it's good to be listed. Klout is still relatively underused (I have tons of friends on Twitter that don't use it) and I like that it's another way to interact with people and give them little +K points, feels good.

I'm on there with a 62, but I haven't received one perk yet.

I think it's weird that some of the perks I didn't qualify for and they don't tell you what made you ineligible. I have a Klout score of 60 and I even rank on there for influence in fashion. They were doing a fall fashion preview with Macy's and I didn't qualify....uh, I'm not saying I'm the bees-knees, but I'm curious as what it *would* take to have qualified for that? A ridiculous K score? Hmm, not sure!

I did get a free sweatshirt which was nice (wearing it now, ah, warm) but other than that, haven't qualified for anything and am never sure when to check the thing to see if a new perk comes out before I miss it..I missed the promo with Sharpie and wanted to kick myself!

I like what Tom said, it can't be a bad idea to be listed on another site like that.

That said, I wouldn't spend too much time there either. Perks and all are nice but time is a premium for me. When I do pop over there I'll try to use my Klout points for you guys when I can (you can give like 5 points a day to people's categories).

Good point. I think some of us just struggle with trying to keep up with everything. If Klout requires little from us than it might be ok.
