I visit your site every weekday since you are in my Fall group. I don't leave many comments though because most of your posts are about picking stocks. If I don't own the stock, I don't know much about it and won't have a lot to add.

 

last 5 post - dollar store, LULU, GMCR, APPL. There is one more post about trading strategy.

I don't comment as often as I'd like on some of my Group 2 blogs, but rest assured I do open them up and click around at least 3-4 times a week to give the Alexa juice since I have the toolbar installed.  Sounds like you're doing that, which is key.

It happens. My blog is skewed toward investing so I have experienced the same often.

I would actually recommend going outside of Yakezie as well and commenting on other investing type sites.

Investing topics and personal finance topics often appeal to the same audience but not usually on a regular basis.

Also, pay attention to those that come back often and build community with them.

I also find that Twitter is helpful for building repeat traffic.

 

Build RSS too.

 

I need to visit more often, I will bookmark and grab your feed.

 

Thanks... yes, I wondered if the "focus" is so focussed some just don't visit as often.  Do you have other communities you have found helpful?

Are you using an SEO plugin such as All-in-One SEO? That makes a big difference as far as getting your posts noticed by Google.

Also, you might check out Google Webmaster tools to make sure there aren't any errors when their bots try to crawl your site. I had some serious errors going on a few months ago, and once I fixed them (through another plugin) my search traffic improved a little. Though I have to confess - only about 10% of my traffic comes from search.

 

I'm using All-in-One SEO - but I can't say I know what I'm doing... I just do my best.  Anyone have a post on how to target particular keywords, etc. using this?

I was seriously thinking of some options such as that... and wondering what might be a good use of my limited dollars.  I suppose, once I get some income, I'll be able to reinvest it... but in the meantime, I'm willing to invest a little for some results.  I'll check that out... thanks.

I really think a small giveaway would help.  If you can afford $25 it can go a long way.  You can use it to build your social media followers, email subscribers, etc.

Most of my traffic comes from search engines, so I'm not the best one to give advise on growing faithful readers. However, I can say that many searchers will take note of your site if they are intrigued by your content and design.

As a blog with great content, I don't think you need to pay for advertising just make sure your SEO is on point.

Agreed.  Things start slowly for most every site.  We're not even a year old yet and we've managed to get about 450 RSS and 630 Twitter followers.  The only giveaway i've done on our site was for tax software and it bombed.  It is said repeatedly but good content is key.

Try those as tactics to get you to 200,000.

Longer term, I suggest being active in the Yakezie community, submitting to blog carnivals, and working on SEO.
