Seems like Feedburner just has a mind of it's own. Like others have said, it is best for us to ignore it.

My feedburner count halved, about a week after my 100th post promotion. I was a little shocked to think so many people had signed on for the promotion, and then took the time to unsubscribe. But, I checked again yesterday and the numbers are back to where they were. It must be a feedburner problem. My subscriber chart shows that this has happened 3 times in the last month.

I posted about this in the feedburner group and heard crickets.

We see a drop every month or so but it corrects within a day or 2.

Forthe longest time we weren't getting correct readings but a plugin solved that.

I don't sweat it much but I sure do look forward to seeing the ticker go past 400

Mine usually drops about 50% of my subscribers once every week or two. It's annoying. I think when you go into the tool you can get an average over a period of time. That's more useful than looking at a day by day since it flucuates so much.

Yah the day after you post it will be higher than after a day of nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it. Like many other parts of blogging, it's a nice to have, but doesn't actually improve income or the product very much, so I would definitely focus on other things first.

My counts are always all over the place. I have no idea what to believe.

Also all over the place are my Google Analytical counts lately. They are sometimes half of the counts I get from the Blogger dashboard (which I am pretty sure is accurate based on some unscientific tests I have done). I think I need to experiment with the placement of my Analytics code on my page as I think it may be loading too late and, hnce, some quick visits don't even get counted.
