Welcome back once again. I took off from blogging more than few times in last 4 years. But every time I went back fully in to it. Perhaps I needed breaks even from blogging to stay focused for a longer term.

To be completely honest, I wasn't planning on starting a new PF blog, I meant writing my food blog again, which had 9 posts in 2014 and the last one was in May. But I have a few drafts started for PF posts on Yakezie. I could see myself writing a guest post or two for others as well.

I guess the best way to start is to just sit down and write. I got a "I'm back" post up earlier today and scheduled a recipe post for tomorrow and currently researching a health related post to go up later in the week. If you count the outline for the novel I'm (re)starting, I've typed out almost 4000 words this week, plus probably another 1000 in forum posts.

Speaking of my novel, anyone into sci-fi thrillers? Looking for opinions on my story.

Setting a schedule is really important. If you don't have a schedule, you'll keep finding excuses.

Also, I think we should write on whatever we feels like. Don't feel constraint by the topic. That way you can write about anything you like.

Welcome back Edward! I never really left blogging, but for a while I was just slapping up crappy posts which were hurting my readership. About six months ago I started really taking the time to write solid posts that actually meant something to my readers, which ultimately made it more fun because I started receiving many comments again!

I would say set a schedule for yourself and stick with it for at least 3 months. Don't make it a crazy one - maybe just 2 posts per week, but be sure to spend about 2 hours on each post so they generate traffic. If you stick with it for a period of time it will become fun again and you'll most likely stick around.

Best of luck Edward!

The cool thing about blogging is that it's optional. No one "has to blog". In general, the more I read, the more I write. I subscribe to the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, Fast Co., Inc. and Entrpreneur along with the San Francisco Chronicle. I can't go very long after reading before I'm bubbling up with ideas.

Best of luck Edward and welcome back.

I have good and bad days/weeks/months! I look for things to stimulate or motivate me to write. Sometimes I find them immediately and other times it takes much longer. I have been doing this for four and half years and experience lots of ups and downs.

Has anyone else taken a break from blogging and then come back to it? If so, how did you get back into the habit? I've been trying myself that I wanted to get back to it but I'm still finding excuses to procrastinate on writing.
