Looks like you have some pretty good explanations on your stats already, but yes, they are very good. The daily #'s and the length of time is outstanding. In another 3 months, you could really be ready for some serious monetization!

Agreed. My host analytics show much more traffic than I think we actually get.

Thanks for the feedback, let me add some clarification.

The stats I posted above come from my webhost, they have an analytics tool that I have been looking at. I understand that it will not be perfectly accurate, but I have been using it over the past 3 months, so it least it is relative data to me.

I probably visit the site 10 times per day, definitely not 40. This is mainly just to check for and answer comments.

I was lucky enough to have 3 guest posts in a row on Free Money Finance in mid-February. After that, my traffic picked up a ton. I think that helped me get started more quickly than most. I've also been included in several blog carnivals.

Also, for some reason, over the past week, my average is closer to 160 visitors per day. On the weekends, that usually falls over to 80 or 90 per day.

Personally I like to see a higher number on the search engine referrals as those are usually the readers that lead to clicks and money via adsense.. but definitely you've got a solid start. The key is to continue writing good stuff, work on improving SEO and promotion/networking, and keep at it for the long term!

My best advice is to check out some of the big dog PF bloggers and see what they're doing - and try to emulate them (not copy them). They do things the way they do for a reason -because it works and brings traffic. :)

Your direct traffic is pretty high. If your new vistors following is low. It would mean either that you go to your site a lot throughout the day (and everyday) or that you have a bunch of loyal followers who are constantly going to your site. I want to say a majority of that traffic is you but that is a lot higher than normal (most website owners in the beginning visit anywhere from 10 to 40... no stats just guessing).

You typically want perfect SEO on your traffic results (Organic, Referral and Direct). You pretty much want 33% on each piece. This allows you if Google decides to update the algorithm you won't be screwed if you had 70%+ traffic from them.

If you had one person who sends you a lot of traffic (referral) and let's say one day they forget to link to your site or don't like you anymore (...not judging i swear lol). If your referral traffic was 70%+ it would really hurt your over all traffic.

Same goes for your direct traffic.

Put Google Analytics on your site for more accurate numbers.

114 average daily visits is extremely good for a 3 month old blog I'd say. I spent practically my whole 1st year with an average of 20-60. Only now am I getting close to breaking 100. My posts are also much better now I'd say.

Your average visit length is also very good.

If you're ever interested in ad based monetization, realize that you'll need more search engine traffic to be successful.

I'd keep on doing what you're doing, it seems to be working.

I do have a few questions though, hope you don't mind answering. What are you using to measure this data? Google Analytics? Sitemeter? Wordpress Stats? All will give slightly different reads and you have to ensure that your own visits aren't being counted. I'm not an expert, but the 6 minute time on site seems really high. Is it possible that your own visits, which are probably longer, are being recorded?

I started blogging essentially on Jan. 1, 2011. Below are some stats for March (month 3). I've seen other post stats on here and get feedback, so I am curious to see if I am doing OK, or what the stats mean really...I know nothing about websites really, except that somehow I have one!

Total Unique Visitors for March - 1261 (Feb was 1051)

Average Daily Visits - 114

Average Daily Page Views - 502

Average Visit Length - 6 minutes, 9 seconds (is this good or terrible?)

Traffic from bookmarks, direct address - 93.8%

Traffic from search engines - 1.7%

Referral traffic from other sites - 4.1%

Obviously, the majority of my traffic is coming from direct visitors, but my traffic from referring sites is beginning to pick up (mainly seems to be from comments I am leaving on larger blogs).

For those of you who know something about this - what does all this mean, and does any of this data provide useful action step for me?

Looking forward to the experienced insight!
