Edward, I sent you a note about formatting to your SEAM Publishing form and never heard back...

That is odd. The form seems to be working for me. If you are still interested, send me an email or a PM.

200 dpi is way too low. Amazon's Kindle Publishing Guidelines recommends images be saved at 300dpi and that's for actual images. If you want to go the image route, then I would recommend doing a screen shot (Print Screen button) and opening the image in your preferred image editing software (I use GIMP, it's free) to crop the image to just the text box. The KPG also requires: The MINIMUM size of text is 6 pixels for the height of a lowercase "a." Pages 18-22 contain the relevant information and examples.

At the end of the day, however, I have switched from using textbox images in most cases to instead inserting the text as centered and italicized.

If you have any other questions or problems working on your ebook, just let me know. It's what I do. :)

If you re-build it (I know it is a huge pain in the ass) including the boxes, but in HTML, it should work

Interesting...I'll have to look into this. It will be a lot of work, but if it works, it'll be great.

Thanks!

How did you originally create the text boxes? I don't see why they would look bad in an ebook.

I wrote the whole thing in Word and simply used the text box feature up in the ribbon.

Hi Everyone. I've run into a small problem in the creation of my ebook and I'm hoping you guys (and gals) can help.

I originally wrote a book with the intention of it being a print book and I would self publish it. I've since reconsidered and feel that the ebook route is the best way to go. My issue is that my book has many text boxes (about 20-25) scattered throughout. When creating an ebook, text boxes are a no-no. I don't want to remove them, as they are part of the underlying message in the book. They wouldn't look right at the end of the book or chapter.

I thought of making them pictures, since you can use pictures in an ebook. I saved the word doc as a pdf (making sure it was at 200dpi). From there, I used a photo editing program to make jpeg's out of the text boxes. It worked, but the text is fuzzy. I'm not certain if I just need to tweak this approach to get it to work or not.

I'm hoping someone out there can suggest something. I have a decent amount of tech knowledge, but try not to get too technical on me haha!!

Thanks in advance!!
