I don't get spam in my gator account either, but it is never published online (I write info at reachfinancialindependence dot com instead), I think it does the job.
All is forwarded to gmail, and sometimes gmail categorizes emails as spam, like fake advertisers that probably have been flagged by other webs.

Thanks for the feedback and help everyone. Actually in this case, including myself and my clients, we do not want to forward our email to Gmail. So that's why I was aksing about the spam with HostGator since we want to have POP accounts without being tied in with Google.

So far I'm pretty pleased with both the hosting and the email. ;)

I HIGHLY suggest using forwarders so you can get everything in one Gmail account. It helps save time and keeps things clean. I actually just had a post about email management go up today if you are interested.

This is what I do as well. This way I only have to login once to access all of my email.

I've never had any problems with spam on our email accounts either. It isn't my favorite email system that I've ever worked with, but it is fine.

I don't have any problems with spam in my hostgator email accounts. They don't have much of a spam filter, though; so if you get on a bad list or two, you may just have to deal with it by going through the sender.

Not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean spam from Hostgator? No, I have never had an issue with that.

I use their "forwarder" options to create unique email addresses that forward to my Gmail account.

After months of frustration, I am moving my sites to HostGator - very impressed so far! I just migrated the Dividend Ninja there since yesterday. But how is their email? Are there any problems with it, does it get spammed a lot?

Some of the domains I am moving require established email accounts to be left in place. So I want to make sure HostGator email is solid and not spam-ridden, before I switch. I'd really like to hear back from people who use their email service and what they think.
