I had some awful spam issues a while back, like hundreds per day. Then i implemented what i talk about on the post linked below and I haven't had any issues since. (Growmap was one part of it, and denying certain commenting requests was another part of it)

@LaTisha, how strong was your password before? Mine is a 12 digit randomly generated password of uppers, lowers, and numbers and I still get 20-30 per day, which is more than the amount of traffic that I actually log.

Same, I use all recommended options that websites will allow me to use. Maybe it isn't the password then, but it's worth a shot.

I use Akismet + Conditional CAPTCHA. Works almost 100% of the time. Only a few get through each month.

I used Disquis before, and I wasn't happy with it.

Having a separate "commenting" system outside of wordpress is just more to manage.

I will install Aksimet with GASP.

I've noticed an increase of spam comments as well over the last couple of weeks.

Thought about switching over to Disqus...

Use GASP and Akismet together at the same time. That will help a bunch!

Change your Wordpress password. I recently started getting a ton of spam comments even though I use GASP and after changing my password I've seen the spam die down.

Not sure if this was the remedy but it could work.

I'm reaching out to you today in hopes of solving my spam problem.

In the last few days, I've been getting over 50 spam messages per day.

Its tiring and a huge time drain to clean out the BS every time.

Currently I use "Growmap Anit-Spam", who I switched to about six months ago, while before I was using Aksimet.

Any suggestions? Thoughts?
