<p>I&#039;ve taken a different approach in that I&#039;ve taken to marketing my own apps directly instead of building apps for third parties. I&#039;ve avoided that, for now, since that&#039;s what I did for my day job and doing that right away would feel too much like... work.</p>

<p>What I would really like to do actually is as I get more experience, just move straight into consulting instead of being "just another coder". I think that could be a great way to get a leg up. One big thing I&#039;m missing is the networking, and when I get back home, I plan to start getting more involved in the community and at events. I mostly avoided that in the very beginning because I believe in giving and receiving, and I&#039;m not comfortable without anything to show for myself.</p>
