As has been said, I think DA and PA are based on a number of factors (MozRank being one of them), so it could be that some other metrics either went down, or they changed how much weight each metric receives.

IMHO, there are two things to remember:

-The equations that calculate these numbers are constantly changing, so if you are not getting lots of links to your site, it's definitely possible for numbers to go down.

-These numbers don't mean that much. Focus instead on traffic, loyal readers, and perhaps even income. These are more important things to obsess over.

On the other hand, Moz Rank represent the number of incoming links to a site.

In both cases, mozRank was up (in the case of EA, half a point, just below a 5. IYCRYCC a more modest .15 gain to 4.68) but Domain Authority and Page Authority were down an average of 3 points.

I'm a little confused because I thought DA & PA were based off of mozRank. Anyone else experience this?
