I haven't seen the commercials, but the product is so good that I purchased a copy for Julie (my partner on the sites) as well. We even use it to respond to comments on the site and our YouTube channels!

I also write a lot of articles for my site via the Wordpress app for iOS.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Evernote pointless. I really tried to like it because so many people rave about it, but it drove me nuts. I use Reminders on iphone/mac instead - simple, has all I need, nothing I don't, and syncs through the cloud.

 

I've had mixed luck with the Wordpress app. Some functions don't work right on my phone but it's nice to do the basics.

I have a 'Notepad' app on my smartphone that's replaced the physical notepad :)

The software that has helped me the most is Dragon Naturally Speaking. I can dictate my posts (and even comments) directly onto the website, or I can record full articles while driving to work or during any other activity where I can talk into my phone or voice recorder. I can't tell you how much time this has saved and how much more productive I have been because of this.

Otherwise I eventually lose my notes. Doing this also makes everything searchable (Evernote will even OCR your handwriting to the extent possible).

Anything less or more has been a waste of time for me, and in my experience, hand writing is the best.  I can see why Evernote can come handy, but for some reason, it didn't work for me.
