After a long, and tearful, discussion, my wife deleted her account with Pinterest; which kind of stinks because she spent HOURS pining crap to her board (it really was amazing). We even had a copyright lawyer tell us not too worry. Ultimately here is how we decided:

- Do we own the copyright to the item? If no, then we really do have the right to do ANYTHING with the item without getting permission from the copyright holder.

- Pinterest states in their TOS that if they get sued because of something you pin (according to the previous posted article), that you agree to pay, not only your legal fees but theirs as well......uummmm; no freaking way

It's safer not to pin things that aren't your own.

And the more you stand to lose, the safer you should be.

I only had a couple of pins on my account, and I took them down because they weren't mine and I didn't verify with the owner before pinning them.

I have only went to Pinterest once, but this article does seem to take a lot of air out of the whole thing.

I definitely want to peruse the site some...perhaps sooner rather than later when all of the photographs have to come down! There must be a middle....

Copyright in the age of social media is a thorny concept. Me, I don't use Pinterest at all. I don't really get the point of it. I'm not a picture kind of person. I prefer words.

I admit I am not too familiar with Pinterest. But after reading this article I fear it could be a source of future litigation. if you are a blogger who uses it, be careful.
