I usually switch people to Quick Cache or WP Super Cache.

Last week I changed from 3 columns to 2 and the site was misbehaving. 

The columns are out order. see attached picture (thanks Corey.)

I tried 'empty all cache' in W3TC and disabled browser caching. The site is working for me now, but regular readers are still seeing some problems. Anyone have any idea on how to solve this? 

I deactivated W3TC for now, but I'd like to get it running again.
