This will not help in all these cases, but it does with some.

With every offer that comes in via email, I copy the domainname dot com/net/ etc. of the senders email address into Google with a "site:domainname dot com/net/ etc." search.(Obviously, this is not helpful with yahoo gmail and similar email addresses.)

Complaints about scams and frauds usually bubble to the top of the SERPs, but you can also add the word "fraud" and/or "scam" to the search. This is a quick screen to help decide whether to even respond to promotional offers targeted at webmasters.

Also, if you run with the Web of Trust plugin (Google it), you will get warnings when you visit sites that others have thought were problematic.

I do that too, and couldnt find anything about this guy.  Most likely because he changes his email/domain/name so consistently.  In fact, if I didnt remember the LaCoste portion of the thread in here, I wouldnt have caught it so quickly.  So a HUGE thank you to Beating the Index for posting it up here to begin with.
