My stress really comes from the fact that I want to switch the theme on Odd Cents to the same theme as the travel blog. It's been a learning process and I will admit that it was necessary to make the Odd Cents transition a smooth one. I think one important thing is to just get started, and get it out there, and respond to feedback. You can't build the perfect thing up front, but you can evolve your site as you go along. It will be a lot easier to do that, too, since you will have a wall of feedback to bounce off of.

I know what you mean, as I had some similar thoughts before I recently launched Tie the Money Knot (my 2nd blog). We all want to learn from experience, so I get where you're coming from. Of course, sometimes immediate action is better than spending lots of time optimizing before taking action. There's something to be said about just getting started.

I'm glad I'm not alone with the stressful feelings but I do agree that I need to just go ahead and launch it without worrying about it looking perfect. I did the logo myself so I'm not out any money but for some reason, I'm really nervous this time around. It's almost like a test as to whether or not I learned anything with DMS.

 

In any event, it's going live on the 29th, perfect or not.

Unfortunately for me it was for my first site. I'm kind of a perfectionist and I think if you're going to do something then you should do it well. It took 3 months for me to launch my site from the time I purchased the domain/theme.

 

Stupid pressure. As many people say, it's better to be 90% correct and be published, than 100% correct and never be read.
