Just read and commented. Generally agree but how and why is 'writing a meritocracy'?

This is a great question! I'm not sure about your angle on this (and would love to know), but I suggest that "writing is a meritocracy" because poor writing ability tends to wash out. The leaders in the writing world tend to be the best, most qualified writers. These rules certainly apply to journalistic ventures such as NYT, WP, LAT, etc.

Again, I'd love to know what you think!

Guest blogging and writing for sites which you know will increase your exposure to your target market is a given. However, doing it too often and for too long can somewhat undervalue the work that you create.

Hey Yakeziens!

Published a new article about guest blogging and whether you should ever give away your writing for free. I hope you can check it out and leave your own feedback. Would you ever write for free and what would be the circumstances?

Personally, I have a couple times, but under specific circumstances that became even more beneficial.

You can check out the article here: Should you write for free?

Thanks everyone!
