I second using a caching plugin. I use W3 Total Cache. It's a pain the butt to set up, but once it's done, my website load times increased dramatically. There are many guides online on how you can set it up if you need help.

I would avoid W3. It was great at one point, but now it seems to cause more problems and conflicts than it fixes.

Isn't that the worst? It could also be your host. My site was slow and I wasted countless hours trying to speed it up before I finally figured out I was on a bad shared server at Dreamhost. When I switched to Hostgator, my site was speedy again!

I would start by adding WP Super Cache and Smush.it as Christopher suggests. You can also run the P3 plugin profiler to see what is slowing down your load time most.

I would also take LinkWithin off the homepage and have it load on single posts only. That would help homepage load time a lot.

You can get tips from Google here too: Google PageSpeed Test.

I ran a test for your site and it looks like you have a lot of heavy plugins and inefficient scripts running.

If you want to hire me to just do it for you, let me know. eric [@] narrowbridge.net

Lately my site has been very slow to load. I'm wondering if it's because I've been adding large pictures to make it Pinterest friendly. Any ideas on how to speed the site up? Thanks.
