I replied that "I'm honored but badge space on my sidebars ranges from $50-$150 a month depending on location. Would you like to sign up for a monthly subscription on a site with an Alexa Ranking of 49,000, a Moz Rank of 5, and a PR 2?" We'll see what happens, lol. :-)

I got this exact email as well. As I don't have any ads on my site, I was going to either just decline without saying anything or ignore the email. May be I will ask for advertisements as it looks like they won't reply anyways :-)

For those who don't understand the game, this company is offering to give you a BS award in exchange for placing their badge on your site. Their badge contains dofollow links, while their site only provides nofollow links to the "winners". It's an SEO game that will hurt your site more than it will help. It would at least be a fair trade if they provided dofollow links in return.

Do yourselves a favor and don't accept the reward. I sent a response suggesting straightforward ad placement instead of playing games with the uninformed.

I've got another blog in the crime/politics niche, and I got the exact same offer. Only the url and the niche-specific wording changed.
