Most (if not all) of the PF blog carnivals require that you link back to the carnival, if your article is chosen. If we allow trackbacks on our articles, does that fill the requirement, or should we place a link within the article?

I used to either write a summary at the bottom of my articles saying, "this article was included in the following blog carnivals" or just include a separate section in my weekly roundups, but now, I just use the trackbacks (since I haven't submitted often, recently).

Does anyone see a problem with only using trackbacks?

Thanks for asking this question! I often have wonder this myself! I have a Carnival Section in my weekly "MR Cache ..." roundup, that I put all my carnival linkbacks in.

Only sometimes do I tweet them though... I don't know if tweet a roundup drives any traffic to it? What do you think?

I like doing my weekly roundup. It is the same template every week, but I type in all the section info myself. Those really are 10 posts I liked, the guest posters I had, the staff writing I did, the giveaways I found out about, and I really do get to say thank you every week to my readers. It may be very similar or even the same words each week, but I mean them every time I get that post ready...

I used to follow the same format, but it still seemed to be a lot. I think I may ask my soon-to-be VA (my wife ) to help me with this!

We recently scrapped our weekly roundup. Took too much time and effort (hours) and it wasn't too popular. We moved to a monthly round up for now - our absolute favs.

We used to link back each week. I think i'll start dedicating Thursdays to this endeavour now (in addition to the daily tip)

Although, I'm not doing much of anything but traveling now (to our new land across the country) I was glad to see this. I feel the same way. Link round ups take a ton of time, yield not too much interest, and in my opinion, may have gotten a bit formulaic. I am also scaling back a bit and linking only to my absolute favs.

I did as well. I just can't keep up with them. I have since launched the Link Love carnival which people can submit to on my blog. It's starting slow but it will build momentum over time I am sure. I have had great encouragement from those who have already participated.

I just include a section in my weekly roundup. I figure my trackbacks sometimes get eaten as spam, so I lean to the safe side. Plus, it seems nicer to take the minute or two to type it out since it does take 3-6 hours to host...
