Tell them to try it for a month at your regular advertising rate ;-)

Tell them that 1 week trial is not serious, you could get a traffic peak or a traffic low and they won't get a clear picture of what your site can bring to them. On the other side, the biggest advantage they have to advertise with you is obviously the link juice you are giving and not some king of direct sell from people clicking the link! Affiliate sales are not that easy ;-)

Doesn't work that way. Never agree to trial ads. You are obligated to tell advertisers what your average traffic is, nothing more. At the most you can agree to a one time discount... don't go beyond that.

I haven't been in that situation yet, but perhaps they would still bite if you offered them a discount for a month. Instead of charging $50 for the space, maybe you can allow them to have it for $25, then if they like it and decide to stay, then the rate goes back to the $50 regular rate.

I'm with Crystal regarding free space. I don't think I would do it either.

Yes, 1 week for free. This is basically gonna take a few dollars away from the site's income so I'm wondering if it's all worth it... If they just decide that they won't give it a go then it's buy buy to those extra $$$.

On the bright side, if they like the performance if their ads on my site then that's some $$$ coming my way... Please enlighten... Thanks!

Honorable Yakezie Members,

I seek thy knowledge if it makes sense for me to agree... An advertiser asked if they could try putting an ad on my site for 1 week, just to try it out. I've never done this before (put direct ads) so I don't really have any experience.... Is it a win-win situation? Should I ask for a bond?

Thank you
