When I signed up, I started with a pay by month - thinking I could switch later for a cheaper rate (they offer cheaper rates for 6 months, a year, 3 years, etc).  I had a bad experience with my prior host and was reluctant to lock in.

 

Well, today  I tried to switch to a longer payment period, thinking I would get a cheaper rate per month.

 

It turns out that the cheaper rates for longer periods are only offered on NEW accounts.  Once your first period is up, I was told you go to the higher rates.  This is something I hadn't realized and I wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering switching....

 

I am paying 8.95 a month for one domain.

Though a lot of the lower cost hosts look the same, some are better than others.  Try to read up on the hosts and ask questions.
