I'm really considering the Kindle Touch (grey screen), just need to find out how the thing works with online stuff and if it has much function beyond basic browsing.

I have an iPad that I use for testing my debt snowball app, and for checking emails & responding to comments, etc when I travel. I can also post blog posts from it, but it's not as convenient as a real computer.

I have a tablet laptop. I know you are not asking about that :) Mine is an actual ultra light laptop, but also a tablet. I like having that because I can actually draw and write when I don't want to type. I would love to get an iPad. I was planning to get one by accumulating enough affiliate amazon gift cards, but damn CA...

Lol. I find the iPad to be terrible for real typing. Just jotting down some ideas, and drawing images.

I plan to buy my time until I can install Android on it - unless WebOS becomes open source. I just couldn't pass up the chance to get a 32gb tablet for $150! For now, I'll just work on my blog through the browser, and use my laptop for any serious mobile computing.

I have a IPad, but I couldn't work on it. It is great for browsing the internet and answering emails, but I wouldn't do anything else as I find typing too slow and tend to procrastinate with long emails until I get to my desktop. Great for traveling and browsing, but not for heavy use.

I'm a netbook guy. Never used a tablet but I have a Chrome CR-48 and Acer netbook in addition to my main laptop. They are good on the go. Just make sure you get enough RAM if you go that route.

I have been saving up for a tablet at some point. Slickdeals alerted me that there's one today on McBub that is very highly rated, a 7" Android tablet for $170. I'm still on the fence but take a look and I'd be curious if anybody pulls the trigger.

I actually use my iPad a LOT for research and writing. I bought a bluetooth keyboard to make typing easier, and I use either the Wordpress app or another called Blogsy to write my posts.

There are times when I prefer my computer - a tablet definitely can't replace one completely - but I love the 10-hour battery life and the ability to work from my couch or my bed. Actually, I used the iPad from my car today! Jana from Daily Money Shot called me about a HostGator issue, so I pulled into a parking lot, propped the iPad on my steering wheel, and was able to help her out. (Obviously that requires a device with 3G capability unless there's wifi everywhere you go.)

I will never buy another laptop. If I travel, I'd much rather take my iPad and its charger (both of which fit in my purse) than lug a laptop, power brick, and separate bag. I've never once regretted the decision to get a tablet.

I use my iPad a lot for email, browsing and Yakezie. In fact I'm typing this comment on my iPad, while sitting in front of the TV, waiting for the season premiere of 'How I Met Your Mother' :)

Its not good for continuous typing, but good for jotting blogging ideas, writing quick email replies etc.

There is a Wordpress app as well. So I can edit my typos in posts, approve comments and reply as well.
