I've submitted maybe 3 or 4 pre-written articles to the network. You get more exposure if you submit an original, previously unpublished article to their network. It hasn't helped me so far, but it hasn't hurt either.

I've been a writer on Associated Content for years (which has been acquired by Yahoo! Contributor Network, so I guess now I'm a contributor.)

I primarily write for them because of the page view payments. I can write random articles on different topics, but still have them show up in searches without having to build a whole site around that topic. And it's monetized for me.

I think that if you have one specific topic that you want to write a lot about, it could work to write a few articles for Yahoo! and then link your profile to your blog on the same topic. Maybe. But they frown on linking actual articles to outside sites, or to your own blog, and I imagine an in-article link would be much more effective than a link in your profile.

You might be able to pick up some readers though if you are active in the community on there - similar to being active in any sort of message board.

I see that some of us recently began submitting to Technocrati, Adaptu, and other large networks.

What about the Yahoo! Contributor Network?

They've been soliciting for submissions and it seems like another avenue to gain exposure. Does anyone have any experience with this network?

Hunter.
