Very well said. I know that if I see comments from the same person over time, it'll get my attention and I'll give the blog a return visit. If I like what I see (and as long as you publish a full feed) I will usually subscribe in my Google Reader.

The best way to get your Alexa Rank dropping is to associate as much as possible with other bloggers.

Basically, to selflessly promote others, just as the Yakezie motto clearly states.

This is exactly why Sam picked Alexa as one of his key metrics. Our average user is not going to have the toolbar installed.

My advice would be to setup your google reader with as many Yakezie Member & Challenger blogs as you can find, and comment them as often as you can... I promise, many of them will start visiting your blog and comment you right back. This means that more and more folks that have the toolbar will be visiting your site.

If you are having trouble finding blogs to add to your rotation.. Just take a look in these forums, or start going through the blogrolls of some of your favorite sites. If you see that somebody is a regular commenter on another blog, then start visiting their site and leaving them comments, because you know that they are also making the rounds.

That 's really all there is to it.. You have plenty of time to get below the 200k threshold.

The SEO experts say the best way to increase traffic ( Alexa Rank) or score good Rankings for keywords is to create a campaign/ write article / content thats too good in quality, ultimately it would be shared my many on the web through different social media platforms and this will increase your Traffic, so some awesome content that people cannot ressist to keep it to themselves.

Hope that helps

I'm at 240K right now (so close!!) but also started up in the millions like you. One thing that seemed to really help me was Yakezie, and supporting other bloggers. Specifically, I'd go to other blog sites and leave comments about their posts. This supports them and brings traffic back to me (win win!).

That close to the finish line point was the worse for me. Progress seemed to slow to a crawl. By the time I was under 250k, the number would go down by about 1000 per day.

Commenting is definitely key. My way of discovering new blogs to read is pretty much new challengers announcing themselves on Yakezie forums and from comments to blogs. People who have CommentLuv installed are an invaluable resource for me finding interesting content.

Also, I do a blog roundup every couple weeks and this seems to help too. It's another way of showing other bloggers that you dig them and send traffic their way; and many of them will turn around and support you right back!

To be honest, I'm just enjoying writing the blog and interacting with other members so the 200,000 figure has been put to the back of my mind.

Yes... Don't worry about the numbers. In a month or 2 you will be down under 200K or close to it. Read, comment and always come from the heart.

Well, I can't quite agree with "in a month or two" since I've been a challenger for about 4 months now and am in the 300Ks (which is a HUGE drop from where I started - 3 million); but if you read, and comment honestly and with content, then you'll definitely start to see a drop. I agree with Jai on that one. And I've found that since becoming more involved in Yakezie and being more active in supporting fellow Yakezie-ers (through blog roundups and twitter mentions mostly)that my score has dropped faster. And it's made me appreciate other bloggers better.

I use the "SEO All in One Pack" or some plugin like that, which has seemed to help my search engine hits (which has helped the alexa score).

Guys, you're right. In one week my rank has dropped from 2.4mil to 1.3mil. I didn't believe it but obviously hard work and the Yakezie way will ultimately yield success.
