I used to get these all the time but don't anymore (I guess I rejected them one too many times). My question to them ALL the time is what do I get out of it? When they say traffic I usually ask for evidence that proves that. When they say a Link I tell them I don't need one from what is usually a PR0 or PR1.

I don't know why, but it bothers the hell out of me that they are getting content essentially for free!

For what it is worth Newstex is a legit company but there are so many blogs that just steal people's feed and claim it their own.

I wouldn't do it, particularly if they are not paying you. If they want your content, they should hire you on as a staff writer. Keep your content on your site so the integrity of your blog remains high. Also, it is better for Google duplication issues.

Unless it's a serious company like Investopedia (they give your their video/text content in exchange), I'd pass it up.

There's a company out there called Newstex that pays you for the service.

As for others using your feed? Do what you feel comfortable with. I don't know what sites are requesting but they may just be looking for free content.

As long as they are giving you credit for writing the piece, and they aren't super-high search engine traffic generating posts, I'd say go for it!

I haven't given a situation like this much thought. If they are high traffic sites, you'll get more visibility, but they are trying to use this to make more money for themselves, too.

I'd try to negotiate some money out of it.

They said they would link back for each article and give credit to my site. No pay was mentioned. I'm thinking it's just a way for them to get content for free. One is for an employment related site that also has a newspaper associated with it; The other is a wireless company who is looking to revamp their site with more user content.
