A large portion of my workweek is spent moving sites from Blogger to WP, and the longer you stay on Blogger, the more annoying it is to switch. If you do take the plunge, make sure if you hire someone that they know how to import the images - otherwise they show up in your posts but will still be hosted on Blogger.

If you have your own hosting, you have to own your own domain. I also started on Blogger and moving to Wordpress was probably the single best decision I made for my blogs.
