I verified with Bing last year. Still don't get a lot of traffic from Bing searches but I like to keep the option open in case I'm ever penalized in Google's search results for some reason.

Thanks guys - I uploaded it using that method and have verified now! It's showing up as the http://saverocity.com

Do you think it is necessary to have both Google and Bing Webmaster tools claimed and verified?

Thanks, I forget that G WMT is separate from Analytics.

I just logged in to change it to http://saverocity.com there, and it is showing the site as unverified.

I recently upgraded to Thesis 2.03 from 1.8x and added the Google Meta tag to the header in Thesis, but now it is telling me that my site is unverified in WMT...

I have the Meta code added in Header Editor/ Site Verification/ Google Site Verification but when I hit Verify in WMT it says it cannot verify... has anyone come across this issue before?

Thanks,

Matt

I would definitely change it in Analytics and (most importantly) Webmaster Tools. While there shouldn't be a difference as long as they both resolve to the same site, sometimes Google is dumb about considering them two different sites, especially in WMT.

Any site using SSL will show https but plain old http generally doesn't show in a browser anymore. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply - I know my site and this one Yakezie doesn't show it, but if I look at other sites such as google, facebook, flyertalk, basically any site I look at... they all have www and they also are showing the https (which I guess is more important to display).

I think that I have referred to it correctly everywhere.. but in google analytics it states http://www.saverocity.com and on my site page it is only saverocity.com

Should I change analytics (if possible) and if so are there any other key sites to change, such as Adsense, Alexa etc?

I believe that modern browsers don't show the http as a rule, but if you copy the url from the location bar and paste it in a text box, you will see it. As far as the www, it is really a matter of preference these days, as long a you are consistent about which one you use and redirect the other to it.

Hi All,

I am wondering what my fellow Yakezie folk think about the subject of the URL, at the moment my URL redirects to just saverocity.com rather than www. or http:// or http://www. I believe that this might have an impact on indexing, and wondered if anyone had any ideas about the best practice for this?

Thanks,

Matt
