Anyone use the Twitter iPhone app?  Also, I normally just retweet posts, but if I wanted to tweet a message, do you need to directly send to someone or can you just type up a message and blast all?  Trying to get a handle on this Twitter thing. 

If you just go to your profile page, type something in, and click enter, everyone that's subscribed to you will get your tweet. But if you type @example, that person and all their subscribers will see the tweet too.

I use this all day as twitter or any other twit wrapper is banned on my work network. Give it a shot, tweeting should become easier.

If you mention someone by name, they'll be notified AND all your followers will be able to see it.

You can use the DM feature (the little envelope in the middle on the app) to send a private message if you don't want the entire world to read it.

I have an android so I dont really know how the iphone twitter app works.  I've had success with 3rd party apps like seesmic and tweetcaster (and I think both have Iphone apps).  

As for tweeting a message, you can do either - you can directly send to someone (usually in an app you'd pick the person who you want to send a message to and hit the reply button) or you can send something to everyone who follows you - this works great for tweeting new posts (Check out what's new on buck inspire at http://www.blahblah....)
