My husband and I paid off all or debt at age 34 so I got to quit my job to be a full time blogger.

When I started (3 years ago), I probably devoted over 60 hours a week! I since cut back and I think I am much more productive (effective). Income was never my focus! Long term, I want consistent income to supplement my retirement (in 3-4 years). I am still working on this part of it.

We just started blogging in April of this year, and we are quickly realizing that in order to be truly successful we are going to have to step up our time commitment. I would say that currently we spend about 10-15 hours a week blogging, but our readership is moderate. I'm curious how long it took some of you to begin making consistent income with your blog? We've made just a little bit via advertising but would really like to both increase our readership and money making potential. Obviously we are trying to jump into the Yakezie challenge but what else could we be doing? Thanks for your advice.

Glad to hear that's the dream and that your heading in the right direction. By the way, love the name. One of my favorite quotes is "Mo money, mo problems" by Notorious BIG. It is true that the more money you have, the more responsibility that comes with it. But it also means the more cool stuff you can do.

I know what you mean. It does take a lot of hours to make quality blog posts. I work Full-Time, teach personal finance classes and blog on the side. If only there were more hours in the day.

It's amazing to see how much time people put into their blog. I would consider myself a part time blogger... it's a hobby, but one I really enjoy. I'd like to do it full time one day!

I'de love to change roles and blog on a full time basis! I guess that i, and a lot of others are too frightened to leave their job just in case it doesn't work out, especially in this economical climate were jobs are so hard so come by.

I was only blogging once a week, but now I am kicking it up a few notches. The blog I run is a bit different as it relates to a business and a product. I try to keep it informative while also relating to the product and the company. We had a small team which as now grown quite a bit so I have a lot of free time to work on the blog.

This is how I ended up on this awesome forum. Trying to understand blogging on a deeper level. I still only blog about one or two times a week im currently working on structure and style.
