You are free to choose if the guest post gets published on your site or not once the person has sent it. It can help beforehand to ask for a couple of previous guest posts from that person to check that it is not filled with crappy links. If it is, you can charge for a sponsored post or decide not to publish. Many "bloggers" approach me in disguise when they are really trying to make money by selling links, I refuse their posts, but accept sponsored posts from marketing agencies, and welcome guest posts from other PF bloggers.

Thanks guys. I'm a little concerned about people just spamming the website with crap quality.

I'm only opening it up to PF bloggers. I'll see how I get on with other PF bloggers writing elsewhere :-)

Try writing up some posts of your own for other bloggers John. It can be a good opportunity to build your reputation with other PF bloggers. This way you could get them asking to write posts for your site :)

I agree that only accepting from other PF Bloggers is a good policy. I've accepted a couple of guest posts from sponsors, though. I charge a fee and make sure that the quality of the post is high and the outgoing links are trustworthy.

Hi My Personal Finance Journey, thanks for your thoughts.

I definitely don't want to be inundated with requests and i'm noticing other PF bloggers being very specific on their guest posts. I guess commercial companies would want to write for free online. It's only PF bloggers I'd want to share it with anyway.

Thanks!

I've had that type of page on my site for several years now. Overall, it seems to be a good thing. I'd just recommend that you put on the page that you only accept guest posts from other PF bloggers, otherwise you get a lot of emails from commercial sites too.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a bit of advice really. I've been thinking of adding a "Write For Us" section on my website. Is this something which people do later on once their website is below 200,000 Alexa rank?

I'm trying to get my blog below 200,000 to complete the Alexa challenge and I presume, from the reading I've done, that writing on other blogs helps? It would be great to be able to write on some different blogs and offer people the chance to write on mine.

This might seem like a stupid question, but is that the best way to "do it"?

Thanks in advance.
