You're doing awesome work in making the Yakezie Carnival a smooth process as well as keep us all active in it. Thanks!

Thanks Glen for the kinds words!

The Yakezie Carnival is a great site building mechanism for both members and challengers. Plus, I'm finding that programing in Javascript for the google spreadsheet backend scripts is more fun than I expected.

Hi gang,

Well, it took me a while, but I fix a few of the bugs in the Yakezie Carnival submission spreadsheet.

Bug 1, when a new form submission was submitted, the formatted text wasn't automatically added in the "Formatted Submissions" tab in the spreadsheet.

Not having any background in Javascript, it took me a while to muck though to create code to get this to work, but it's golden (at least plated) now.

Bug 2, if you put an enter or 2 at the end of your submission, it would stay there messing up the look of the description.

A simple TRIM in the proper place took care of this problem. Please don't submit 2 or more paragraphs for your description!

I still have a few manual tasks to perform each week with the spreadsheet, but it's now 1 step closer towards being totally automated.

As for future changes, I'm thinking of doing the following:

-automatically email the host of the current week's Yakezie Carnival. Effectively giving them a reminder that they are the hosting blog for that current Yakezie Carnival week.

-have the spreadsheet auto-delete the entries each week (this would eliminate the last big manual task with the spreadsheet that I do).

-including the submitting blogger's email in the form, to notify that their post as included.

I have other ideas, but these three are the ones that I may work on sooner than later.
