that is very high, but if you comment a lot and interact with other yakezie members and challengers you'll be fine. My suggestion is to join one of the yakezie small groups in january when they are re-set. That has been the single biggest thing for me.

That's actually not a large number at all. I've seen sites at 24 million!!!

If you're active with other Yakezie members/challengers, it will drop to under 1M in no time.

I would not focus on Alexa so obsessively. What you really should be focusing on building a quality content and building relationships. In the end, it will matter the most because what you really want is loyal readers. Just my two cents... :)

hey all. Thanks for the words of encouragement and the advice. I'm going to be bookmarking all of your sites and visiting on a regular basis.

So, as a newbie....and if I have this correct, Alexa is simply measuring visitors to my site. Thus, If I comment here or leave a comment on your post, you will be more inclined to swing by my blog for a look/short visit. Is that it?

What am I missing?

I'm at week 6 - 42 days in, and I'm at 347,930 versus 2.7M in the beginning. I'd say 5 weeks is doable - but my gains have certainly slowed since I went under 500K!

Everyone else definitely hit the nail on the head. I think that you will be quite surprised by how quickly your ranking will drop if you keep at it, comment, and participate in the forums. Good luck!

Good luck, I think you'll be pleased at how quickly things can develop if you follow the suggestions already mentioned. Yakeize is a great motivator.

As everyone has said, 5 million is not a large starting point. To re-iterate some points already mentioned, start with quality content. You can skip this step and just comment a lot on other blogs and you will get there, but if you want to maintain your readers, you have to have something worthwhile.

Then, network. Reach out to other challengers and members for help as you have questions. Comment like crazy on other blogs and interact in the forum. YFS is a great example of this. If you do only these two items, you will reach your goal (without a question). The best part is that in doing this, you will find that everyone is wanting to help others reach their goals - it becomes an endless circle of giving. It's great!

I went from over 6 million to under 3 million in 2 weeks. I'm actually gearing up for a major push to get to under 1 million as quickly as possible. We'll see how it goes

The Yakezie network is much larger now then when I joined...it took me 2 months to get from 8 million to 200k...my estimate is around 1 month accomplish the same now, so with active forum participation you will be there in no time.
