Hey Buck,

I find http://www.webpagetest.org/ to be excellent for measuring site speed. It breaks everything down into very comprehensive reports down to the individual requests. However, it tends to report times that seem slower than you might expect because even after your main content loads there can still be lots of other requests happening from all your widgets and ads. So just keep that in mind when looking at the results.

Thanks for this link! My site is pretty slow.
I need to optimize it a lot more.

Google's Page Speed gives you a score but doesn't actually tell you the time.

There's a thread in here somewhere about improving your page's speed with additional tools. GTMetrix.com was one mentioned I think.

Also, Google's Webmaster Tools has a Site Diagnostic link that shows your page speed over time. It only updates weekly or so, but it should reflect your changes soon!

Hi all,

Is there a good tool to check your website load speed? I recently added hyper cache and db cache reloaded plugins to improve my site's performance. I guess I should have ran the speed test before I made the change. Just curious if these plugins are making a big difference. For regular visitors, mind if you stop by to see if it feels faster? The plugins were implemented yesterday morning. For me, sometimes it feels faster, sometimes slower, and sometimes the same!!!

http://buckinspire.com

Thanks,
