5 Techniques I Use To Write Articles That Brings Traffic To My Blogs

Hey guys,

I thought of sharing another piece of my knowledge today. I have read on my tread on boosting your traffic in 2011 that some people were wondering which kind of article gets the most attention. I'll try to make a quick (and definitely not complete) list of what can work on your blog beside the cliché "write with/about your passion" ;-). Those ideas are based on my experience so they may not be perfect and they may not work for you… it just means that they have worked for me in the past:

#1 Pick controversial topics

My first big success on my blog was a controversial series on Primerica:

There are several people angry at Primerica and their reps are defending their company with great enthusiasm. When you touch people deep beliefs, you create some great interaction… but you must be ready to take the heat (look at the comment section if you want to know what I mean ;-) ).

#2 Write Series

it makes your life easier as a blogger since you can write 3, 4, 5 articles based on the same idea and it makes people come back to learn more about the topic. I like the series as it allows you to go deeper in each sub-topic of your ideas and you can then optimize very specific keywords in each post and create backlink juice within your site (the big G loves this!). Here's an example:

#3 Write Humongous and Complete Post

I have recently wrote a "pillar post" (click on it to know what is a pillar post) of more than 3,000 words:

http://www.thefinancialblogger…..l-freedom/

When you write something that can be used as a reference by other in the future, you increase your chances of getting link juice and comments. Take a topic where you are really good and write a piece on it. Make sure to separate your post in several sub section

#4 Write How To articles

People are reading your blog because they have interests and questions about specific topics. If you write "how to" articles, you can answer some of those questions. Here's an example:

http://www.thefinancialblogger…..-6-months/

If you can use analogy at the same time, then you have a killer post in hand ;-)

#5 Make Lists

This has been used over and over all across the blogosphere but I think it's still a good advice. Here's an example:

http://www.thefinancialblogger…..repreneur/

Making lists are easy for the bloggers and encourage people to add something in the comments. Don't over do it because it easily become redundant.

I hope I am helping you by sharing this info. Those tricks worked for me in the past so I guess there not too bad ;-)

cheers,

Mike.

Very interesting… I came up with some series of articles and it does help me a lot. People do come back, and I don't exhaust myself trying to come up with ideas to write about. Thank you for sharing!

Great advice, thank you for sharing.

I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has something different to add to this list. But that list should help people out a lot.

Thanks for sharing!

multiple series articles are great, especially when the initial article is enticing and leaves the reader wanting more.
