I used to retweet manually dozens of tweets from my favorite bloggers every week until I found this really cool tool.

I use Hootsuite to manage social medias and recommend you do, as you can manage your FB, Twitter and 

other accounts all in one place. 

If you go into settings and RSS, you can schedule Hootsuite to check automatically your favorite blogs' feeds and RT

 their new posts. That should be a great time saver as they will shrink the URL and add the Twitter handle, well, do it all

for you!

That's awesome Pauline! Thanks for pointing that out. This might seem like a stupid question, but do you know if the tool also allows you to have those posts of the feeds you follow scheduled…so you don't dump out a lot of tweets all at once? 

Great tip Pauline.  I have seen this before, but I have the same concerns as John and Jason.  I like to give our fellow members some Alexa love and like to read the blogs.   I also don't tweet every blog post because many that I visit don't discuss any pertinent topics or are useful to my followers.  I still like the control, but it is very time consuming.

I usually visit the post to read and comment, and then tweet about it. Between people who don't shorten their URL, the ones who don't include their Twitter handles, and the ones who don't have obvious Twitter buttons, it is really time consuming. On top of that I have a slow internet so if my visit can be limited to reading and commenting, I can visit and read more sites. I do use Google reader but click straight away on the post in order to give the blogs a longer visit than just the time of writing a comment if I read in Google and clicked afterwards.

This is what I thought – this can work if one is very selective and has levels of favourites. Pauline you are always on my list :) but I may need to ask you some questions by e-mail (luddite allert).
