Also, don't always assume that you title becomes your url.  I've founf that if you aren't typing the title in quick the URL may only pick up part of the title.  Ot you may edit the title and it doesn't get picked up in the URL.

 

OR

 

You want the URL to be differnt from the title for keyword purposes.  e.g. You title would sound bad with the keywords but you want them to show in the URL.

Is there a way to set a keyword rich URL that doesn't match the title? If I do that, it changes to match the title whenever I hit "save draft" in the dashboard. Is there a way to tell WP what I want the URL to be and have it stay no matter how many times I re-save or update the post?

Save the post privately then you'll see the URL "Permalink" appear below the title in your editor backend.  Click "edit" to the right and change it how you want, then post it publicly.
