How long did it take all of you to reach $100 on google adsense? Currently, most of my traffic (55%) comes from search engines, so I figure Ill reach $100 soon, but its been roughly 3 months and I'm only at $16.

It took waaayyyy longer than 3 months to get my first payout. These days it is about every six months. (I don't remember for the first payout, but it was probably a year or more)

We got our first cheque $114 today. So 5 months – but we hit $100 a number of weeks ago.

9 months before my first payout (I didn't even know what SEO was…), then another 3-4 for my next one, but now it's only been a month and I'm at $60.  :-)

Almost a year!!!  But I wasn't actively working on monetizing my blog at the time.  Now it goes faster.

I didn't monetize my blog until the 7 th month after that it took a month to get to $100. So 8 months I guess.

I'm on my 4th month and have had Adsense the whole time. I've made about 75 dollars so far (below the 100.00 Threshold). Am hoping to break through and get a check this month!

Great question–7 months, and now in one month I have made $50.

A long time! I don't remember for sure, but I would guess more than 6 months.

Ha! I haven't gotten there yet! I've been blogging for about 8 months, and I'm hovering around $50…. I expect it to take another 3-4 months or so, which would put me at a year.

Google Adsense will most likely not be your best source of income, so don't worry too much about it. But, you should probably focus on your SEO, which would automatically increase your Adsense income with the increased number of visitors.

Took me around 12-14 months to hit $100.   3-4 months later I was making about $100 /month.   I've never done a lot of work to monetize or promote my blog though.

I think it was about 3 or 4 months for me – and then they kicked me out once I made $100. But, like Crystal, I didn't know anything about SEO at the time.

Jon, I don't think Khaleef figured out why they kicked him out -

He has been using his wife's account for a while now if I remember right and that has been well so far.

Took me like 18 months (don't think I had adsense the whole time)….but since hitting that first check I have received one every month since.

55% from Search engines is a FANTASTIC number but you still have to take into account 55% of what? is that 55% of 100, or 55% of 1,000

Very good point. My traffic seems to be growing each month, but last month it was 65% of 600.

Jeff,

If I were making any recommendations, beyond just writing cause your stuff is awesome (and these were recommended to me from TFB when I went to him with the same question):

1)  Get rid of those annoying f'in info link things! I hate those lol and they can't possibly be bringing in all that much

2)  Change the 468x70 box to the largest square adsense has

3)  Put that largest square adsense at the beginning and at the end of the post

4)  My left sidebar converts well, but you don't seem to have a space for it.

5)  The large adsense squares should just be text…I know they are ugly but for whatever reason people (not you and I people) click them.

Hope this wasn't too forward.
